Revver has been sitting on my videos for over a week now. It's really getting annoying. My messages to the support and review teams have gone completely unanswered.
I've still received no word from YouTube about applying for a partnership. I expected that as you've got to have a pretty strong following to qualify, but for Revver to just outright ignore me for over a week is just inexcusable.
If that sounds like faint praise for the Tube... I neither confirm nor deny it. If there's a single positive thing I would ever have to say about YouTube, it's that I actually really like the annotation and interactivity features. Some people use them to append factual updates to their v-logs, which is very useful given the time it can take to edit and upload a video, not to mention what can transpire after it goes live. One of my favorite YouTube videos is an interactive game that uses stop-motion animation of Street Fighter action figures. It's simplistic, but it's beautiful for it. I'm using the middle-of-the-road feature of annotations where I simply put links to the subsequent and previous entries in the series at the beginnings and endings of the videos. That said, I'd really love to do more stuff that takes advantage of the interactivity features. What gets me is, despite the influence of YouTube, no other video-sharing site has anything close to this. DeviantART, as we know, allows you to pause the video and leave a comment at that particular point in the timeline, but that's the closest thing I can find. Flickr has their "note" function, but that's more an extension of their comment and critique systems than any sort of platform for interactive media. I would have thought blip.tv would try to trump YouTube, but they don't seem interested. In any case, the question remains: Could YouTube genuinely be... growing on me?
Fortunately, despite this bit of bad news, I've got a few ideas for drawings that have been rattling around my head for a few days. It's just a matter of getting over those "blank slate jitters" and finally laying down the line-work.
I think all artists have a collective fear of blank surfaces. There's probably nothing more intimidating than a blank canvas or sketchbook page. It shows just how much work you have ahead of you and makes you think far too long about that first stroke or line. Sure, you can paint over it, erase it, take it as a "happy accident," or even just start a whole new page.
If you suffer from "blank slate jitters," "canvas creeps," or "tabula rasa heebie jeebies" how do you get over them?

I can't answer on his website because he blocked me

It's a shame he blocked you. I read in one of his journals that he was going to unblock people that he had previously blocked as a mock act of good faith. I guess it's vindicating to see that every act of his is tainted with lies and spite.
Don't worry about it. He'll never become anything more than he already is, which is less than nothing.
The little Invader.
